Holidays in South Bend

Better late than never....here are some pics from our trip to South Bend for a couple days after Christmas.
Owen got to meet his Aunt Tanya, Aunt Jen, and his cousins, Bennett and Jillian.
He was a little under the weather for the trip, but still had fun with everyone.
He was especially interested in the model train, which Papa showed him.

First solid food

We started giving Owen rice cereal a couple weeks ago. This video is from the first attempt. He seemed to enjoy the experience, but it might have been more that he had a spoon to try and chew on. He doesn't seem to enjoy the taste of rice cereal, but he'll tolerate it.
This morning (Jan 24) he got to try bananas - he really enjoyed those!

I'm 2 feet tall!

Owen is doing great and growing quickly. He has quite an appetite.

Generations Together

After 4 months of seeing pics of Owen on the blog, Poppy & Mamoo (Bud and Jewell Stowers) finally got to meet him yesterday here in Knoxville. They are Owen's great-grandparents, Katie's dad's parents. They were the first of a few great grandparents that Owen would meet today.
It was so cool to get to see them hold him and play with him. And Owen just about sucked Mamoo's finger off!












Later in the day, Gramps & Linda came by. Owen took to them, too. Linda, especially, seemed to have a way with him.

Snowstorm in Portland

We have a rare snowstorm here in Portland. By midwest standards, it's not that bad. But, the city isn't as prepared for it, and neither are most drivers.
Anyway, we bundled Owen up and walked down the street to visit some friends who just had a baby this week.

Modeling a new onesie

It's hard for us to believe he's fitting into some of the things he is now. When we got them we though, "oh it will be so long before he can wear this." And here he is.
Here he is trying to look sophisticated wearing a new onesie from Aunt Tanya. Then he cracked up.
